Yay or Nay? Baroness Crussol

Not everyone enjoyed Miss Seymour's finery but luckily fashion prevailed and her peach, white and black ensemble was met with a Yay. But maybe her getup was a little too springy for this time of year? Let's go back to the winter collection.

Elizabeth Vigée-Lebrun paints Baroness Crussol from the back in her red, white and black riding habit. I suspect those are the lyrics to a White Stripes song that she's looking over. Yay or Nay?

  3. YAY! Also, kudos to you for finding a Vigée-Lebrun I've never seen before--I didn't think that was possible at this point. I'm inviting her over to LJ ;)

  8. Lovely! Red and black can be so stunning together but the offset of the soft lace at collar and cuffs...a huge yay from me and a need for that outfit. :)

  18. Yay, I say Yay also - there are very few outfits that I would truly want to spend an inordinate amount of time making, but this one is simply dashing - carolling on a winter night in a small town, stopping for an eggnog or wassail? simlply lovely, stylish and classy all at once. Bravo to the artiste!

  21. YAY,YAY,YAY!

The combonation of Red and Black, especially for bland, white winter days, never goes out of style.

Her Riding habit is perfectly tailored and the matching hat is the cream on the cake. I love it!
